We are so grateful for the generous support of the Elmhurst CRC community.
Your giving makes a positive impact on the ministries and mission of Elmhurst CRC.
God has done so many good and outstanding things in and through our congregation. And, we’re grateful also to be able to provide resources for our community partner and CRC affiliate, Grace and Peace Community Center—and for the invitation to help Emmanuel with a new prosthetic leg!
We could not have achieved these amazing results without the participation of so many. Thank you for your generous tithes and offerings throughout the year, but especially for flexing those giving muscles for this 24-hour period. #g2G
Grace and Peace...and Hope
We’re spending the day with one of our mission partners and CRC affiliates - Grace and Peace CRC in Chicago!
What started as an afterschool program in Rev. John and Angelina Zayas home, caught the attention of Grace and Peace Fellowship church who mentored them and supported them as they expanded their brand of hope into their west-side neighborhood.
Grace and Peace (GAP) has since grown into a full-service Community Center with its arms outstretched into the neighborhood. Their Food Pantry—a COVID-19 crisis response—still today supplies over 1200 needy families with essential food items. Recently, GAP has been a critical piece of the refugee story in Chicago, providing housing, resources and job opportunities (watch for the Emmanuel story later today!).
As GAP Community Center has grown, its mission has remained the same as when Pastor John and Pastor Angelina opened up their home to neighborhood kids – to unlock the potential in and with the community—and provide hope.
Grace and Peace CRC has been a valued missions partner of Elmhurst CRC since 2019.
On June 6, Elmhurst CRC Day of Giving, all donations will be tithed (10%) to as we’ve been invited to help little ten-year-old “Emmanuel” with the gift of a new leg!
